Well, it’s officially been a year and I want to Thank each and every one of you who’ve stopped by, tweeted, facebooked, commented & shared in this experience. You guys (and gals) are awesome!
With that said, I have something to share. Way back in 1998 I started a small comic strip when I began working at the local paper as a Graphic Artist and it was called, ‘Lost Ambition’. It was pretty bad, but I didn’t really have any idea of what I was doing, so make fun of me if you must.
Anyway, one of the Wannabes got his first gig as a character in that strip. Allow me to share with you the First Appearance of Kenny. (As seen by clicking the thumbnail to the left)
I’ve said before that Kenny was partially based off of my own inner critic, but in those early days, he was based more off a friend of mine whom I attended college with. As you can see, Kenny wasn’t always as bitter as he seems nowadays, I guess that comes from being kept in the filing cabinet all those years. Regardless, he’s out now and I have big plans for for our wannabe elitist, so please stay tuned.
So thanks again for sharing in this occasion and the good news is, I’m just finding my bearings and look to be doing Wannabe Heroes for a long time coming. Here’s hoping you guys stick around. *Raises Glass* A toast to Wannabes, past, present & future!
I have uploaded some of the fan art that I’ve received for Wannabe Heroes and you can take a look at it here — Wannabe Heroes Fan Art. There will be more to come and I’ll make it look nicer once we get the new website design up and going!

In case you were unaware, Wannabe Heroes isn’t just about the comic strip. It’s more like a group of friends who are all ‘Wannabes’ at heart. I’d like to to share a link to visit one of my fellow wannabes, Andrew Pate’s newest music project, Rogue’s Gallery.
“Rogue’s Gallery is not a band. It is a group of musicians and friends, all with different writing styles, coming together to create new music. The purpose of this site is to motivate us to continue to write on a daily basis, but with that, it will give the viewer an insight into the way songs are made, from beginning to end. We will post everything we create, every step of the process, from writing the lyrics to the full studio recording of the songs, and everything in between.” – Andrew Pate
Here is a sample of one some of the music they are creating and posting on their site.
Check it out and let ‘em know what you think!
