I was once told by a weathered DnD player sitting in a corner booth at McDonald’s that without artists, all of his favorite books would be boring and just full of words. He went on to ask, “Who wants to read a book with just words in it?” He paused a moment before answering his own question. “Girls.”
Take from that what you will and don’t forget to sound off below!
Really enjoyed this conversation. It was natural, funny, and made sense to me. These two wear some of my all-time favorite costume designs to boot, great colors. Can’t wait to see next week’s battle!
Thanks, George. Your comment made my day! I was hoping to be able to get their conversation across the way I can hear them in my head…er… not to say that I hear voices in my head.
Girls dig writers? What? I wish.
But seriously, nice work with the dialogue. It’s tricky arranging all those word balloons to reflect the flow of the conversation.
Girls.

After I submitted that I had to sing the next line….
“Two at a time, I want Girls.”

Yes, Mark, girls like writers. Especially girls who ARE writers. Also? “Boom. Ambush’d.” made me LOL. Awesome line!
Just loving this comic more and more every week. Great job!
My wife likes reading those fancy words without pictures – but she is a proofreader and does that all day… then she gets to proofread some sequential art when she comes home!
now thats the way to get people good. i’m looking forward to what rob going to do to ambush. looking good on the story.
Thanks, guys and gal for the kind words. I was away from the computer most of the day, so I just got these comments. I’ll sleep well with all the positive feedback!
I can attest to being in attendance when the observation was put forth in that McDonald’s. Glad to see it spun in such a way to make me laugh once again. Excellent work Mr. Kretzer. Heh, love the new catch phrase, “Boom Ambush’d” I see a t-shirt in the future with that one on it.
Thanks, EAB! I could see a T-shirt with said catch phrase…heh.
Funny my wife needs pictures and few words. Her choice for book club one month was People Magazine.
Haha, Bearman, I hear ya!
*Sigh* I have not yet been successful in teaching myself that checking Wannabeheroes every day does not mean there will BE a new wannabeheroes every day. It is a sad, sad, lesson.
…That is a sad lesson. I wish I could do something about that. Hopefully one day. Till then, I appreciate ya hanging in there.
